Cissr age rules

DRAFT. Not in effect. A lawyer has not reviewed this document.

Last updated: October 4, 2026.

Cissr is only for people who are 18 or older. The check is a birthday you type. It is not an ID check.

The rule

You may create and use an account only if you are 18 or older. Cissr is not directed at children.

How the check works

You type your date of birth. That date is stored in a private profile field. Other people never receive it.

If that date means you are 18 or older, the account is marked age-verified. You cannot turn that mark on yourself. It is not a field you can edit from the app.

If you are not age-verified, discovery stays closed. You are not shown in discovery to other people, and you do not get discovery, until the mark is true.

Your age preference cannot be set under 18. The product rejects a minimum age below 18.

What this check is not

Cissr does not ask for a government ID, a passport, a driver's license, or a photo of a document. Cissr does not match your face to an ID. A typed birthday can be wrong or false. These rules do not claim the check proves age in the way an ID check would.

What other people see

Other people can see your age as a whole number of years. They cannot see your date of birth.

If someone seems under 18

Report them in the app and choose Underage. The reported person is not shown the report. [NEED: who reviews that report, and whether the profile is hidden while it is open.]

Do not keep contact with someone you believe is under 18. Unmatch or block, and send the report. Sending a chat does not write to the database yet, so do not treat a message as sent.

If you are under 18

Do not use Cissr. Do not type a false birthday. [NEED: the removal step for an under-18 account. Delete account is not built, so this draft does not say you can delete it yourself.]
